Avagahana Sweda – Herbal Water Bath. Warm baths with special herbs are used to relax tension, purify the system, and relieve pain. Recommended for those with backache or slipped disk, renal pain and some skin disorders.

Akshi Tharpana – A special eye bath, which nourishes the eyes and enhances eyesight.

Avagaha – Baths in medicinal preparations.

Dugdha Dhara – Pouring of milk over the body. This therapy, combining milk with medicines, is used for insanity, insomnia, burning sensation, giddiness, and paralytic conditions.

Karna Parna – is a process of filling the ears with medicated oil. Treats earache, deafness, headache, lockjaw, and diseases of the teeth and gums.

Kavalagraga/ Grandusha – Mouthwash and mouth gargling with medicated oil etc. This therapy prevents decaying of teeth, fresh mouth, healthy gums, and a disease free mouth and throat

Kuti Sweda – Similar to a sauna, used to reduce weight. It is used with care under the supervision of a physician.

Muhuna Abyanga – Face Massage. A facial massage with oil or herbal cream to remove impurities and smooth the skin. Activates deep centres of the brain, reflex points, energy meridians, and facial circulation to soothe the body.

Naadi Sweda – Directing regulated steam to a localized area to relieve pain by means of a special apparatus.

Netraparisheka – Cleanses and soothes irritated eyes.

Netrapindi – Special medicated eye packs are placed on the eye, which nourishes and relaxes tired eyes.

Parisheka – Sprinkling of medicines over the body or body parts. This therapy is used for skin diseases, muscle disease, and burning sensation of the body.

Padabhyanga – Foot Massage. Prevents and cures dryness, numbness, roughness, fatigue, and cracking of the heels. According to Ayurveda, the nerves in the soles of the feet are connected to the eyes and ears thus these sense organs also benefit.

Pinda Sweda – Fomentation with medicated puddings followed by a warm oil massage. Used to induce sweat, remove stiffness of joints and cleanse the body channels. Recommended for relaxation, pain relief and to stimulate circulation.

Sarwanga Dara – Warm medicated liquids and oils are poured on the body followed by mild massaging.

Shirsha/ Shiro Abyanga – Head Massage. The head and nape of the neck is massaged with oil to stimulate blood circulation and enhance hair growth. Oil nourishes and strengthens the hair roots and the scalp, seeking to prevent hair loss and premature greying. The massage also intends to increase the release of hormones and enzymes necessary for the health of the brain.

Shirodhara/ Shiraseka – The process of pouring lukewarm Ayurvedic oils continuously and gradually onto the forehead or ‘third eye’, through a copper vessel. It is recommended to release stress, insomnia, schizophrenia, for depression and headaches and for treatment of several diseases connected with head, neck, eyes, ears, nose, throat and the nervous system.

Siro Vasti – Oleation of the head. In this treatment, oil is held over the head with the help of a leather cap. It seeks to cure ear, nose, throat, and head problems. Facial paralysis, insomnia, dryness of mouth, headache are treated with this therapy.

Snehana – Oleation/ Anointing. This type of the therapy consists of two parts: external, in the form of massage and internal, by administering medical preparations. This therapy aims to cure disease, promote eyesight, overcome fatigue and nourish the body.

Sweda – Fomentation with medicinal preparations. This therapy helps maintain uniformity of different organs, enhances softness of skin, slows ageing and reduces wrinkles. Also designed for high blood pressure, diabetes, insomnia and skin diseases.

Taila Dhara – The head and body of the patient is smeared with medicated oil. The therapy is beneficial for the head, neck, eyes, ears, throat, and for nervous-system conditions. Also treats insomnia, schizophrenia and mental disorders.

Udgharsana – The body is rubbed with medicated plant powders. Cures itching, promotes the enzymes in the skin and removes dirt from sweat glands.

Udvartana – Unction. A type of body massage with special medicated oil or with a paste made of ground grains. It cleanses the skin and increases circulation. It promotes weight loss and clears away impurities that might cause problems such as cellulite.

Vakthraabhayanga – A facial therapy that helps to maintain healthy skin. It includes massages with sandalwood cream and other herbal cream mixtures.

Vashpa Aggrahanaya – Herbal Inhalation. Serves to dilate and purify the respiratory tract.

Vashpa Sweda – Herbal Steam bath. One of the oldest traditional ways of deep-cleansing the skin. The body is enclosed in a steam box with only the head left exposed. As many as 6 fresh herbs and 12 dried herbs make up the boiling pot, which produces the steam for this remedy. It opens up the capillaries and tissue crevices to induce sweating and excretion.

Vishesha Sharira Abyanga – Synchronized/ Intensive Massage. The massage will be done gently and synchronously by two therapists using special oil to strengthen and invigorate the skin and tissue, lymphatic and immune system for deep relaxation and harmony.
