Day 3 & 4 (Riding Days) After breakfast, mount and ride through the Hantana route: over the hills, through sweeping grassy plains, cultivation areas and mountainous terrain. Have a restful lunch in a quite garden under tents before departing once again through similar terrain, trekking through villages and jungle pathways. (Riding: 3-5 hrs, 25km-30kms)

Travel to the central highlands - a stirring land of lush tea plantations, majestic peaks and gushing waterfalls. Check into St. Andrews Hotel in Nuwara Eliya for a two nights stay. Nuwara Eliya was made into a summer retreat by the British in the early 1800s and much of its colonial character still remains. The town sprawls over the fertile valley flanked by Mount Pidurutalagala and Single Tree Mountain and is scattered with Victorian-style 19th century homes, bungalows, guesthouses and hotels complete with gabled roofs, large open fireplaces, gardens with neatly-clipped lawns and colourful flower beds.

After breakfast the next morning, ride through tea plantations and over the hills before stopping for a picnic lunch. Evening provides another unforgettable trek through the tea bushes, seeing the country the way the planters did in the cooler temperatures of the hills. (Riding: 4-5 hrs, 25km).

Day 5 (Riding Day)Starting early in the morning, take the inspiring two-hour journey to Ella. Mount at 9am and ride in its spectacular mountain scenery. The ride will pass through welcoming hamlets and soothing green paddy fields. Splash across the streamlets and trot through jungle trails in another untouched area of the island. Picnic lunch will be alongside a lake, under the shade of tents, while the houses bathe. The evening ride will include a similar scene: trekking over untamed lands and small villages to arrive at the Ella Adventure Park before nightfall. A hike of 2km is required to the Jungle Camp.

Day 6 & 7After breakfast engage in the activities available at one of the only eco-friendly hotels in Sri Lanka. Activities range from abseiling, Rock climbing, bathing the fresh water stream running through the hotel or even in the private waterfall available to each cabin. Or else, riders are invited to relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere of nature that is evident in the cup shaped valley housing the jungle camp. After a traditional Sri Lankan lunch and rest, head back to Colombo for your final two nights stay at the Brown’s Beach hotel in the north west coastal town of Negombo just 30 minutes from the international airport.

Join the fisherman on a catamaran as it sets sail in to the sunset or take boat ride along the centuries old Dutch canals that winds through Negombo’s quaint town. Experience Negomob’s Colonial heritage including Catholic churches and the ruins of the Dutch Fort.
