Sri Lanka has 33 species which are unique to the island (based on Rasmussen & Anderton 2005). Of the endemics, around 26 species can be seen in the lowland rain forests like Sinharaja, Kithulgala & Bodhinalaga. The highland endemics can be seen in Horton Plains & Peak Wilderness Forests.
