The major part of Sri Lanka comprises of dry zone habitat. However the dry zone species’ diversity is much less than in the wet zone forests. Yala National park, Bundala, Wasgamuwa, Udawalawe, Wilpathu and Minneriya National Parks are the best place to see the dry zone birds. All cultural sites like Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya and Ritigala are excellent places to see some the dry zone avifauna.
