Location
Club Palm Bay is situated in the quiet north-west beach settlement of Marawila - 35 kms north of Katunayake International Airport. The journey takes approximately one hour. The hotel is well-positioned for those who will start their holiday in Sri Lanka with a trip to the cultural triangle, especially Anaradhapura. It will also appeal to those wanting a beach hotel close to the airport, but away from the more congested Negombo resort.
Introduction
The hotel is located on a 22-acre site that is surrounded by a mangrove lagoon and the Indian Ocean. The area is ecologically rich with a bird sanctuary nearby. The hotel's 104 spacious and airconditioned rooms all face the lagoon or the garden. All the rooms have private verandas on which to relax. A wide and unspoilt beach is, unusually at the front of the property and you need to cross a small track to reach it. The hotel maintains sun-loungers and serves drinks and snacks throughout the day on the beach. Club Palm Bay is particularly popular with children because of its gigantic swimming pool and other sports facilities, including table tennis, golf (pitch and putt) and tennis, as well as several watersports.

There are 104 a/c rooms and two suites. All chalets have en suite bathrooms with hot water. Other room facilities include a private verandah overlooking the lagoon or garden, satellite TV and electronic safes.
Facilities
There is a huge swimming pool - the area of a football field - which has a separate safe area for children. Other facilities include a fully equipped conference and banquet hall, a resident doctor, an Ayurvedha Centre offering relaxing therapies, IDD telephone facilities, and daily laundry service. Late night revelry is possible at the 'Swamp' - the hotels discotheque. A very wide range of sports, including watersports, are offered.
Excursions
Ride on a catamaran as it sets sail in to the sunset or take boat ride along the centuries old Dutch canals that winds through Negombo's quaint town. Experience Negomob's Colonial heritage including Catholic churches and the ruins of the Dutch Fort. Visit the harbour early morning to see the catamarans come ashore, filled with the night's catch of numerous varieties of fish, prawns, crab and lobster. For those interested in nature and the wilderness, take a boat ride into the Muthurajawela marshes and the Negombo Lagoon - home to numerous species of birds and fish, dragon flies and monitor lizards.
