Location
There can be few more peaceful hotels so close to an international airport than this. The Tamarind Tree is roughly a mile from the Bandaranaike International Airport, yet nestled in a tranquil and sprawling 12 acre coconut grove it might be in another world. It also is conveniently positioned for the value-for-money beach resort of Negombo, which lies only a few miles north.
Introduction
Twenty deluxe rooms and 30 spacious self-contained chalets stand peacefully among palm trees in extensive lawns covering 12 acres. As well as the benefits of a relaxing environment, the extensive facilities on offer at such a competitive price will surprise many. Tamarind Tree attracts more than just the one-night visitor, making it far less hectic than other alternatives.

The 20 deluxe rooms and 30 individual bungalows consist of bedroom, lounge and kitchenette with self-catering facilities and dining area. All rooms and bungalows have a/c, telephone, TV, minibar, tea / coffee making facilities and bathrooms with h/w showers.

Tamarind Tree also boasts a large swimming pool, tennis court, gymnasium, jogging track, snooker room and indoor games, restaurant, bar, and conference room, internet access and doctor on call.
Excursions
The beach resort of Negombo is just 20 minutes away. Ride on a catamaran as it sets sail in to the sunset or take boat ride along the centuries old Dutch canals that winds through Negombo's quaint town. Experience Negomob's Colonial heritage including Catholic churches and the ruins of the Dutch Fort. Visit the harbour early morning to see the catamarans come ashore, filled with the night's catch of numerous varieties of fish, prawns, crab and lobster. For those interested in nature and the wilderness, take a boat ride into the Muthurajawela marshes and the Negombo Lagoon - home to numerous species of birds and fish, dragon flies and monitor lizards. The capital city of Colombo is also one hour away for those interested in shopping, fine dining, museums and art galleries.
