Cricket Tours do not get organised overnight, but Red Dot is here to do the hard work for you, from concept to completion. Cricket tours cannot be sold off the peg. Each tour is very different and for this reason Red Dot has a team whose sole responsibility is the design and organisation of your itinerary. We hand pick opposition, hotels and venues to suit your needs. Throughout this process a Red Dot consultant will be in constant discussion with you in order to formulate the perfect tour.As with the tours, the process in building an itinerary varies. We pride ourselves on flexibility, but below is a tour planning model we work around:Stage 1 - The Decision to tour: You’ve decided to tour and you have been lumbered with the responsibility of tour leader (This is a rewarding role, and Red Dot will do the hard work for you). This stage is clearly complete and sensibly, Sri Lanka or India is in your thoughts.Stage 2 - Contact Red Dot Tours: Even more sensibly you have contacted Red Dot for more information and to get an idea of what we could do for you. Write an email or phone us with some rough details and preferences. This does not commit you to anything – just a chance for us to show off what we can do for you. We are looking forward to hearing from you…..in fact email us now before you read on.Stage 3 - Sample Itinerary: The Red Dot team will design an initial itinerary, with suggested flights, accommodation, excursions and fixtures - a basis for discussion.Stage 4 - Draft Itinerary: The draft itinerary takes in your feedback, and makes changes where deemed appropriate. Show it to the potential tourists and determine final numbers.Stage 5 - The go-ahead: An acceptance of the draft itinerary by the tour leader expresses a definite decision of the club to tour. The following then takes place:• Flights and accommodation are confirmed and held. (Note: flights cannot normally be held for more than 11 months before travel, accommodation for about nine months before travel).• Potential opponents are contacted with a request for fixtures and grounds are booked in advance whenever possible.Stages 6 - Deposits are paid: We are flexible with arrangements regarding deposits. Having been in your shoes before, we know what it can be like gathering the money in (especially for the university teams!). It is in your interest to pay the deposit as early as possible. We require the money to secure flights. Fantastic rates can be obtained from Sri Lankan Airlines if this is done early enough. Upon payment of deposits, all booking conditions come into effect.Stage 7 - Confirmed Itinerary: Due to the nature of Sri Lankan cricket, the confirmed itinerary can only be produced about two months before departure. Fixtures agreed in principle, provisional itinerary is reconfirmed -- including opponents, ground booking, playing hours, requested age and playing standard. These fixtures may be subject to change for circumstances beyond our control. The final payment is due.Stage 8 - Pack your coffin: Board that plane and head to the tropics. Sit back and relax, you are in our safe hands. Please note: Cricket fixtures can never be entirely guaranteed. Red Dot makes all efforts to confirm requested cricket fixtures at the earliest stage, but Sri Lankan cricket methods of organisation means that late changes are sometimes unavoidable. Any changes would be in the spirit of the original itinerary. Full explanations will be provided for any changes to confirmed fixtures.
