Rough Guide to Sri Lanka, Second Edition , Nov 2006
This striking new eco-lodge offers a beautiful (if pricey) base for visits to Sinharaja. Perched atop a hill, with sweeping views, the thatched, orange-coloured buildings looks vaguely like a dislocated African bush village. It’s a completely mod-con-free area, with no TVs, a/c or phones. Rooms are pleasantly stylish, with an ethnic feel and lovely open-air bathrooms with solar-powered hot water. Meals feature excellent Sri Lankan cooking using locally grown organic products, and there’s also a beautiful little Ayurveda centre…’

Jun 21, 2008 : A great place to stay for visiting the Rainforest, as it is very local. The experience was pleasant, but the accommodation is a bit ‘gloomy’ and it felt somewhat out-of-season, which of course it was!!

Mar 04, 2008 : Coming from Ulpotha, I really disliked this place – thank goodness I was there only for 01 night. Very fake. Mosquitoes in the room and no mosquito nets – very unhappy about it!! Couldn’t open door to get air in – as concerned about the mosquitoes. Netting behind the room makes it seem very enclosed. I prefer my eco lodge not to hear the sound of traffic and motorbikes going past. Can’t recommend this place unless you like the ‘flintstones’. A bit tacky sally.
