'Combines a modern design with a languid, colonial ambience. The standard lakeside rooms are actually better value and more spacious than the deluxe rooms in the main building. If you’re lucky you’ll see water buffalo bathing in the lake. Rooms have (slightly noisy) air-con and a limited range of English-language satellite TV channels. There is a good restaurant, but weekend entertainment may include a couple of guys in straw hats playing mediocre versions of Boney M songs you’re trying to forget.'
