Lying on the peninsula between the Indian Ocean and the Bentota River, Club Bentota is an all-inclusive hotel with a secluded beachfront setting. Bentota, the west coast's prime family resort, is a two-hour drive south from Colombo. Guests rerach the hotel by boat for a short river crossing, a perfect way to leave the rest of the world behind.
Introduction
Club Bentota is a three-plus star resort managed by the Mount Lavinia Hotel. It has a privileged position with the tranquil waters of the Bentota River on one side and the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean on the other. Club Bentota offers a range of traditional beach activities for adults and children alike, including tennis, beach volleyball, water sports or a river cruise. Or just soak up the sun on Club Bentota's private beach or in the inviting large pool.

The 150 air-conditioned rooms are close enough to the ocean for guests to fall asleep to the crashing waves and flapping palm fronds. Rooms have attached bathrooms with h/w showers and balconies with riverfront views, individually controlled a/c and IDD facilities.

Club Bentota has offers a range of water sports including wind surfing, water skiing along the river, deep sea fishing with the local fishermen and diving. Other activities include riding along the river on a Jet Scooter, water polo, aqua gymnastics, beach volleyball, tennis, table tennis, an open-air discotheque, theatre animation and children's play area. For nature lovers there is bird watching along the nature trails. Rejuvenate your mind and body at the in-house Ayurveda herbal centre. Sri Lankan and international cuisine is served at the Garden Restaurant with drinks served at the Terrace Bar
Excursions
Go out to sea in a catamaran with the fisherman or take a boat ride along the tranquil Madu River past quaint rural villages, en route, visit the local markets, temples & craft and antique shops. Visit Kosgoda's Marine Turtle hatchery - a valuable conservation project that protects the endangered Marine Turtles of Sri Lanka. Experience Ambalangoda's cultural heritage with a visit to the Ariyapala Mask Museum where intricate masks used in various southern traditional dance forms are on display. Masked dancing is also performed here regularly. Visit Mitiyagoda's gem village where the semi-precious moonstones are mined and turned into intricate pieces of jewelry. Visit the nearby Lunuganga -a garden retreat that was created by Sri Lanka's iconic architect, Geoffrey Bawa. The Lunuganga gardens were a life long project cherished by Bawa and designed with numerous varieties of foliage, many pavilions, and statues.
