Aug 14, 2008 : We had a wonderful time at Saman Villas; it was quiet, relaxing and luxurious, just what we needed at the end of a very busy tour of Sri Lanka. There wasn't much to do in the evenings although we did venture out into the local village one evening but we were back in bed by about 10 o clock. Everyone was really professional and polite, the meals we took in the hotel were all of an excellent quality and we had a lovely spa treatment in beautiful surroundings. The views from just about every inch of the hotel are breathtaking and held our attention for the 5 days we were there. It isn't the type of place I would want to spend a two week holiday, but for a bit of 'down time' I think it is probably one of the best that Sri Lanka has to offer and we stayed at some amazing resorts!

Dec 03, 2007 : We very much enjoyed our holiday in Sri Lanka but after high expectations we were quite disappointed with Saman Villas. The private pool at our Deluxe pool suite was overlooked by our neighbours & gave no privacy, the food was also generally poor & not up to the good standards as at the other hotels we stayed in. Saman Villas is living very much on it's past reputation & it is not a hotel I would return to or recommend.
