Perched on a hill with panoramic views of the Kalawana Mountains, Sinharaja rain forest at a distance and a flowing river nearby, Omatta Villa is a small and tranquil retreat consisting of three separate cottages which can accommodate up to six people. Omatta lies one hour east of Kalutara, gateway to the west coast. The journey from Colombo will take approximately two hours. This is an ideal stop before or after a visit to the Sinharaja rainforest.
Introduction
Omatta enjoys a picturesque setting that is ideal for a romantic honeymoon or for friends travelling together. Relax by the infinity pool with tropical jungles and mountains in full view, Walk through landscaped gardens and tea estates, have a river bath, and at nightfall feast on a candlelit dinner set in the garden. The immediate approach to the villa consists of several steep steps through the gardens, which may not be suitable for the elderly or those with physical disabilities.

Accommodation
Omatta has three a/c cottages, each with a double bedroom, private balcony overlooking the river and the jungles beyond, and ensuite bathroom with h/w shower, wash basin, and w/c.
Facilities
A separate pavilion has a lounging area and open-sided bar with magnificent views. Satellite TV, DVD player, and books are available in the lounge. Meals are served at the bar, by the pool side, in the garden, or on your own balcony. Sri Lankan and Western cuisine is served, using fresh vegetables from the gardens and seafood and meats purchased locally. A serene infinity pool edged by the mountains is an inspirational spot for artists and writers alike. Sisira and his caring staff will ensure a relaxing holiday
Excursions
Stroll down the slopes of Omatta scattered with beautiful flowering plants, paddy fields, tea, rubber, and cinnamon trees, fruits and vegetables. Numerous birds, butterflies and monkeys can be spotted here. Visit the village of Omatta, stopping by on the way to chat with the rubber tappers and the tea pluckers while at work. Have a dip in the river, and walk back for a delicious rice and curry meal prepared by Sisira. The nearby Rubber Research Institute, one of Sri Lanka’s oldest rubber processing institutes located in a picturesque setting, is also an interesting morning’s excursion.
