Introduction

Named after the book 'Jungle Tide' written by John Still in 1930 about his wanderings in Sri Lanka, this guesthouse has wooden ceilings, tiled floors, tastefully-furnished rooms and plenty of spaces to relax and unwind including a long veranda that skirts around the house. The house is set amidst three acres of wilderness and newly planted gardens with views across the magnificent Knuckles Mountain Range. This welcoming guesthouse is owned by a British family and is managed by a Sri Lankan couple – Martin and Rani – who cook the meals and provide a personalised service. Jungle Tide can be booked by the room or in its entirety and can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests.

Accommodation

Three rooms are situated in one wing of the bungalow, whilst the master bedroom, living, dining and kitchen areas are in a separate wing. All have overhead fans and open out to the back veranda, the gardens and the mountains beyond. Rooms are furnished with double or twin beds and have an attached bathroom with h/w showers.

Reviews & Customer Feedback

Jun 30, 2013 : House lovely – modern, but with a colonial, ‘housey’ feel. Good bedding. Beautiful garden with flowers, lovely surroundings. Remote, windy area – house creaked a lot, noticeable at night – and quite far from Kandy. Great to have games and books. Home-cooked food adjusted for our kids, proprietors were lovely people.
