Location
Amaya Hills (formerly known as Le Kandyan Hotel) lies on a rocky outcrop, 15 minutes drive above the hill-country capital of Kandy, in tranquil, wooded surroundings and blessed with panoramic views of the city and the Kandyan hills.
Introduction
Amaya Hills is one of Kandy's best-appointed traditional hotels, rivalling the likes of Earls Regency, Mahaweli Reach and The Citadel for your attention. It has the finest views, standing amid steep, wooded hills about 15 minutes above the town, a peaceful land of beautiful sunsets and wispy morning mists. It has an authentic Sri Lankan feel, rising from the foothills of the hill country in traditional Kandyan colours of red, yellow and black, while murals, flags and massive carved columns emphasise a rich historical past. Every effort is made to provide a special Sri Lankan experience.

Accommodation
Accommodation consists of 100 a/c rooms with balcony or terrace, 24-hour room service, IDD phone, radio, TV on request, and attached bathroom with bath, h/w shower, wash basin, and w/c.
Facilities
The main restaurant serves Sri Lankan and international cuisine. Three bars, one with terrace, Le Garage nightclub at weekends, tea lounge with a huge selection of specialist Sri Lankan teas, karaoke and jazz lounge in a cave setting, well-equipped conference rooms, shopping arcade, health and fitness centre, laundry, foreign-currency cashed. Sports include: squash, table tennis, snooker, water polo, large swimming pool, indoor games. An in-house Ayurvedic health centre offers traditional treatments intended to promote positive health, nourishment and inward balance. This "science of life,'' centuries old, is based entirely on natural treatments and aims to promote self-healing and well-being of mind and body. Excursions
The hotel arranges cycling, hiking and bird watching trips. The city of Kandy is steeped in history and culture. Interesting activities include: a visit to the Temple of the Tooth where a sacred tooth relic of the Lord Buddha is enshrined; Peradeniya Botanical gardens, with its orchid collection and formally laid-out trees; Kandy's rich ancient arts and crafts including drum making, Dumbara mat weaving and Kandyan dancing and drumming.
