'…A beautifully renovated 300 year old Dutch house. Behind the anonymous entrance is one of the Fort’s largest houses. As you step into the villa, a large entrance greets you, still with the original black–and-white chequered tiles of the early Portuguese owners. ….Once through the front section of the house you enter the large, bright courtyard, which has a magnificent fresh water swimming pool complete with its own ducks and ample space for sunbathing.'

'Entrance to the house, deceptively modest from the outside, is via a black-and-white tiled veranda enclosed by a low wall set with swing gates. On the wall is a series of timer columns supporting both the roof and a simple latticework screen that helps cut out the evening sun and the prying eyes of passersby. From the plain, but unusual front doors, a colonnaded entrance hall leads to the formal sitting and dining room and the patio and swimming pool in the inner court. Early wrought-iron grilles below timber-lined skylights cast shadows on the black-and-white tiled floors of the entrance hall, lit at night by an old carriage lamp.'
