Off Rocks is a stylish and spacious beachfront property in Unawatuna and is named after the large rock formations found on the beach in front of the villa. It consists of two separate villas, set on a coconut grove leading to the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about four hours.
Introduction
Off Rocks’ two villas are equipped with all modern comforts. They can be booked by the room, by the villa or exclusively. Both villas can accommodate a total of 16 guests. There are seven spacious ensuite double rooms and an `au natural’ seawater swimming pool amidst gardens scattered with coconut trees. Safe swimming in the sea is possible just a five minute stroll along the beach. The interiors of the main villa include Chinese antiques, Rajasthan furniture and paintings from Sri Lanka, Rajasthan and China. Dining and recreational facilities are located in the main villa and are shared by all the guests.

Accommodation
The upper floor of the main villa has three spacious double bedrooms with two rooms opening out to a long terrace with beautiful sea views. The third room has views of the front garden. The second villa has two double rooms on the ground floor and two more bedrooms on the upper floor. All rooms have a/c, ensuite bathrooms with h/w showers, and rooms facing the back garden have verandahs with sea views. All rooms are well furnished with single or double beds and work desks.
Facilities
The ground floor of the main villa consists of a large lounge area equipped with a flat screen TV with satellite channels, home theatre system with surround sound, and ipod docking station. Meals for guests in both villas are served in the dining area of the main villa which opens out to a verandah, swimming pool and in the garden beyond. An a la carte menu with Sri Lankan, western, eastern and snacks is on offer. Fresh seafood BBQs are prepared by the beach. A range of alcoholic beverages are on offer. Off Rocks has an acre of land with extensive landscaped gardens in front and a swimming pool set amidst a coconut grove at the back.
Excursions
Experience Unawatuna’s characterful lifestyle: relaxing by the waters of the Indian Ocean, surfing and snorkelling, eating out at small cafes and restaurants, and bars that come alive with music at night. Watersports are on offer nearby including deep-sea fishing, catamaran and boat rides, diving, surfing, and snorkelling. High on the headland of Unawatuna Bay is Rhumassala Temple. A wallk around the headland reveals beautiful ocean views. You will walk through hidden villages and verdant jungle valleys eventually finding yourself on `Jungle Beach’ - a little known and secluded beach. Galle’s historic 17th century Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is just 15 minutes away. Hours can be spent exploring the maze of narrow streets lined with Dutch and British period buildings still in use, the sturdy ramparts looking out to sea, and a growing collection of art galleries, antique shops, cafes and restaurants.
