The American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka brings together more than 280 leading Sri Lankan and American companies engaged in trade, business and investment activities between the two countries. They host the annual charity golf tournament in aid of various local projects that the organization patronizes. The tournament will be held at the Royal Colombo Golf Course on the 27th September 2008. This event will attract both will attract a host of local and expat golfers.

The tournament, sponsored by SriLankan Airlines, will be held for the 12th year at the Victoria Golf Course in Kandy from 10 to 13 October 2008. The SriLankan Airlines Golf Classic draws golfers from around the world; this year has seen a keen participation from Europe in addition to players from the Middle East and Far East. Over 150 golfers from around the world will play in this year’s tournament

The Victoria Golf and Country Resort officially opened its doors to play in January 1999. To coincide with this celebration of its ten years as the region’s best Golf Course & Golf Resort the team at Victoria have put together the Victoria Anniversary Trophy. There are a series of local and international qualifying rounds to find the top sixty golfers. The final takes place on the 31st of January 2009 and the overseas qualifying rounds will be played in the UAE, Thailand and the UK. Qualifying Rounds for Sri Lanka will be held at held at Victoria starting in January 2008. The top 60 scores from the whole year will go ahead to the Finals in 2009. Players may enter as often as they wish to increase the chances of qualifying for the event.

The fun filled and highly competitive annual tournament of the Donald Steel Trophy takes place each February at the Victoria Golf & Country Resort. A popular event in the Sri Lanka Golf Calendar, this amateur golf tournament attracts over 100 players from about 15 countries including golfers from the UK, Canada and New Zealand and ensures the highest levels of competition. The inaugural tournament of the Donald Steel Trophy was played in 1999 with the opening of the Victoria Golf & Country Club. Since then this event has become an annual fixture and includes the Ebert Pot, The Pam Fernando Trophy, and the Victoria Bowl, with the last two events being for ladies. The February 2008 tournament is open to all golfers with a recognized handicap. The Gentlemen’s Division consists of 36 holes of stableford golf for the Donald Steel Trophy (gross Division) and the Ebert Pot (Net Division). The Ladies Division consists of 36 holes of stableford golf for the Pam Fernando Cup (Gross Division) and the Victoria Bowl (Net Division). Competition prizes are also awarded for `nearest the pin’ and the `longest drive’. In addition 3 Gentleman's’ Division prizes and 2 Ladies Division prizes are awarded.

The Inaugural Mark Bostock Memorial Trophy was held at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort in May 2008. Mark Bostock, former Chairman of John Keels, was the passion and driving force behind the development of the Victoria Golf and Country Resort. This tournament is held in his memory and to celebrate the game of golf as well as to raise money for charity. The organizers are looking to continue with this event in May 2009.
