Location
Serene Pavilions is a new luxurious boutique hotel with just 12 villas spread over a seven acre coconut grove leading to the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Situated in the south West coastal village of Wadduwa, Serene Pavilions is just 45 minutes away from the capital city of Colombo and two hours away from the international airport.
Introduction
Opened in October 2009, Serene Pavilions is an experience of utter luxury and pampering amidst a peaceful and tranquil setting where life unfolds at your pace. This Balinese-style boutique hotel, designed by an Italian architect, has 12 individual villas each with its own plunge pool. The central point of this magnificent hotel is a meandering swimming pool with submerged Jacuzzi beds around which the accommodation pavilions and restaurant is situated. Eight of the pavillions and the fine-dining restaurant open out to spectacular sea views. Interiors are a stylish blend of teak wood, polished cement, muted natural colours, and specially designed furniture from Sri Lanka and overseas. Serene Pavilions is an ideal first or last stop on your holiday in Sri Lanka. In order to maintain a restful atmosphere, children below 14 years are not accommodated.

Accommodation
There are 12 luxurious pavilions with each covering an area of 2,500 sq. ft and set within a walled garden to provide for optimum privacy. Each of the pavilions have a large outdoor deck with a private plunge pool; stylish living and dining area equipped with a flat screen TV, home entertainment system, iPod dock, and WiFi access; ensuite bedroom furnished with king size four poster bed; dressing area and bathroom with garden shower, twin vanities and Jacuzzi; hair dryer, electronic safe; fully equipped pantry with stove, microwave, fridge, and bar service; and 24 hour personal butler service. Upon request, you can be provided with a personal gourmet chef who will prepare meals at your own pavilion or any other location of your choice including the fine dining restaurant or on the beach under a starlit sky.

Ocean Pavilions: Located by the seaside, there are eight double storey Ocean Pavilions each with one ensuite double room on the upper floor and living/dining areas/plunge pool on the ground floor.

Garden Pavilions: The four Garden Pavilions are situate within its own walled landscaped gardens and are located around the central swimming pool. Of these, three pavilions consist of two double rooms each and are ideal for families. One Garden Pavilion has one double bedroom and is perfect for a couple.
Facilities
If you can tear yourself away from your own private pavilion, try a relaxing massage at the Serenity Spa complete with an outdoor Jacuzzi; or take in the sun by the poolside. Hotel facilities include the well equipped Asana gym, Dhaarana Reading Room with an interesting selection of titles, Amritha Bar, the Pavilions’ restaurant, serving a range of Western, Sri Lankan and fusion cuisine; clay tennis courts, a gift shop and personal tour advisor for excursions. The gardens at Serene Pavillions are extensive and perfect for a walk about or venture off to the beach for an early morning walk and catch the sight of village fisherman as they pull ashore their catamarans. The ocean directly in front of the hotel is not suitable for swimming. Serene Pavilions is a perfect setting for a romantic wedding celebration and the hotel offers an attractive package that includes the wedding ceremony, catering and accommodation. An intimate wedding can be held in the privacy of your own pavilion, by the poolside, in the fine-dining restaurant or on the beach. With just 12 villas, the entire hotel can be booked exclusively for your wedding party.
Excursions
Take a boat ride along the tranquil Madu River past quaint rural villages and en route, visit the local markets, temples & craft and antique shops. Visit Kosgoda's Marine Turtle hatchery - a valuable conservation project that protects the endangered Marine Turtles of Sri Lanka. Experience Ambalangoda's cultural heritage with a visit to the Ariyapala Mask Museum where intricate masks used in various southern traditional dance forms are on display. Masked dancing is also performed here regularly. Venture south along the coast and you get to Bentota where the beaches are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, surfing and diving. There are also several watersports companies in Bentota offering jetskiing and waterskiing on the Bentota lagoon.
