Palm Beach is a vast three-bedroom beach villa situated on an acre of gardens edged by the Indian Ocean in the west coast town of Wadduwa. It is only one hour from Colombo and two hours or so from the international airport.
Introduction
Palm Beach is a large two-storey a/c villa of 800 sq metres. It has plenty to keep youngsters entertained including a 20m pool, a home theatre with surround sound, outdoor games, ample garden space to run around, and even a motorised golf cart to use within the gardens. Terraces and verandahs allow wonderful sea views. The ground floor has complete wheelchair access. Palm Beach Villa can accommodate up to 8 guests and is rented to one party at a time ensuring complete privacy.

Accommodation
The luxurious master suite is located on the upper floor and opens out to a private balcony and overlooks the swimming pool and the sea. This suite is furnished with a king-size four-poster bed. The ensuite bathroom has twin vanities, two-person whirlpool, and granite shower. The ground floor has two bedrooms – an ensuite family room furnished with two queen-size beds that can sleep four and a smaller twin room with ensuite bathroom. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, electronic safe, bathrobe and slippers.
Facilities
Living and dining areas are on the ground floor and open out to the swimming pool and the sea. Guests can eat in the formal dining area on a 10-seat mahogany dining table or on the verandah. The TV lounge has a 42 inch LCD TV with satellite channels, DVD player, home theatre system with surround sound, laptop and complimentary internet. Guests are welcome to cook their own meals in the fully equipped pantry with cooker, oven, microwave, and fridge. There is also an a la carte menu with Sri Lankan and western cuisine. For an exotic dining experience, walk across to the Serene Pavilions or Blue Waters hotel nearby. Blue Waters also has good spa facilities that guests can use. Other in-house facilities at Palm Beach include basketball, badminton and beach volleyball nets, bicycles, and body surf boards. Swimming in the sea right in front of the villa is possible during the season from November to April. There is a friendly and helpful team of staff at Palm Beach including a housekeeper, cook, butler and caretaker.
Excursions
Venture south along the coast to Bentota where the beaches are perfect for swimming, snorkelling, surfing and diving. There is jet skiing and waterskiing on the Bentota lagoon. Take a boat ride along the tranquil Madu River past quaint rural villages and en route, visit the local markets, temples & craft and antique shops. Visit Kosgoda's Marine Turtle hatchery - a valuable conservation project that protects the endangered Marine Turtles of Sri Lanka. Experience Ambalangoda's cultural heritage with a visit to the Ariyapala Mask Museum where intricate masks used in various southern traditional dance forms are on display. Masked dancing is also performed here regularly.
