The Cove is a contemporary three-bedroom beach villa of high quality on the more sought-after northern edge of the Negombo beach strip. Only 20 minutes from the international airport, this is an ideal first or last stop on a holiday in Sri Lanka. The capital city of Colombo is about 80 minutes to the south.
Introduction
The Cove, a modern villa that spreads over three floors, has high roofs and large glass windows that allow spectacular sea views. Bright and airy interiors are enhanced with modernfurniture and colourful soft furnishings. The ground floor consists of the living and dining rooms which open to the beach. Bedrooms are on the upper floors with the spacious master suite on the second floor opening out to an infinity swimming pool. The poolside is ideal for taking in views of the ocean scattered with catamarans with their bellowing sails. Upto six adults and two children and can be accommodated here on a BB basis. Due to the heights and many stairways, The Cove is not recommended for very young children and adults with mobility difficulties.

Accommodation
Two double rooms are located on the first floor furnished with double beds and ensuite bathrooms with h/w rain showers. The entire top floor is the mastersuite which consists of a sleeping and sitting area opening out a private deck and 30ft swimming pool. All rooms have a/c, overhead fan, iPod doc, and safe. The master suite also has a mini-fridge and cable TV.
Facilities
There are plenty of places here to relax and unwind including especially the terraces on the first and second floor. The ground floor lounge is equipped with cable TV, surround sound system, iPod doc, DVD player, DVD library, internet facility. The dining area is furnished with an eight seater dining table. There is a fully-equipped kitchen. The manager at The Cove is an experienced chef who has worked in several countries and is able to prepare tasty Sri Lankan, middle-eastern, Asian and Western dishes. There are also several cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood just walking distances from here where you can have a seafood dinner. Guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages or walk down to one of the seaside bars that serve chilled beer and cocktails. The Cove opens out directly to the beach and the ocean here is safe for swimming during the season from December to April.
Excursions
Ride on a catamaran as it sets sail in to the sunset or watch as these large traditional fishing boats come ashore with their days’ catch. Take a boat ride along the centuries old Dutch canals that winds through Negombo’s quaint town. Experience Negomob’s Colonial heritage including Catholic churches and the ruins of the Dutch Fort. Visit the harbour early morning to see the catamarans come ashore, filled with the night’s catch of numerous varieties of fish, prawns, crab and lobster. For those interested in nature and the wilderness, take a boat ride into the Muthurajawela marshes and the Negombo Lagoon - home to numerous species of birds and fish, dragon flies and monitor lizards.
