Hikkaduwa Beach is a mid-range hotel with a prime beachfront location in Hikkaduwa; the youthful somewhat bohemian beach resort on the south west coast. Hikkaduwa lies 25 minutes to the north of Galle and is about 2.5 hours away from the capital city of Colombo. The journey from the international airport will take up to 3.5 hours.
Introduction
Hikkaduwa Beach is a 50 roomed hotel facing the turquoise seas of the south west coast. The beach in front of the hotel is protected by the coral reef and is one of the safer swimming spots in Hikkaduwa. This end of the bay is best for diving and snorkeling. The hotel offers unfussy budget to mid-range accommodation for those wanting sunshine and savings as well as a chance to spend time in Galle's fashionable old town. Hikkaduwa Beach is located along the main hotel strip close to several budget beachside bars and restaurants that offer an interesting mix of people, good food, and music in a relaxed tropical beachside setting.

Accommodation
All 50 rooms at the Hikkaduwa Beach Hotel are of a reasonable size and have a private balcony or terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean. Guests can choose to use airconditioning or open out the windows and let the ocean breeze through. Ensuite bathrooms have a washbasin, w/c and h/w shower.

Standard Rooms: Rooms are furnished with twin beds that can be put together. In-room facilities are basic in these rooms. Ceilings fans help to keep these rooms cool.

Deluxe Rooms: These rooms are furnished with twin or double beds. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead ceiling fans, cable TV, IDD telephone, mini-bar, safety locker, room service and laundry service.

Suite Rooms: the suite rooms are more spacious and include all the facilities as the deluxe rooms.
Facilities
Dine indoors or out on the terrace overlooking the turquoise seas. Sri Lankan, Indian and western cuisine is served here with special emphasis on seafood dishes. There is a Tea Room where guests can taste Ceylon Tea from different parts of the country; and a lounge bar serving cocktails and other alcoholic beverages. Other hotel facilities include a beachside swimming pool with sun loungers and a fully equipped a/c hall that hosts meetings, weddings, and seminars. A PADI diving and watersports centre offering scuba diving, snorkelling, and surfing is located just next door to the hotel.
Excursions
Hikkaduwa has some of the best surfing beaches and a wide range of watersports including diving over coral reefs, snorkeling, and windsurfing. Bentota’s lagoon is ideal for jet skiing, water skiing, and boat trips along the river. Visit the Kosgoda Turtle Conservation Project, which is a pioneering effort in conserving the endangered Marine Turtle species that come to nest in along the west coast of the island. The south west coastal towns and villages share a vibrant cultural heritage including folklore, music, and dance forms. Cottage industries such as basket weaving, mask carving, and small shops selling Dutch antiques - furniture, lamps and ornaments, makes for interesting way side shopping. We also recommend a morning’s excursion to Galle’s 17C Dutch Fort - a UNESCO-protected World Heritage site. Explore maze of narrow roadways lined with Dutch and British period buildings that are still in use, museums, art galleries, shops, restaurants and cafes.
