Location
Havelock Place Bungalow is a rare thing in Colombo: a small six bedroom boutique hotel, offering a peaceful and elegant alternative to the major five-star properties. It is centrally situated, yet still has a secluded setting that will delight clients looking for a tasteful, personal touch. The drive from Colombo's international airport is about one hour.
Introduction
Havelock Place began life in the 1940s as two separate private Colonial bungalows which has been cleverly merged and elegantly restored by its current Sri Lankan owners. Comfortable rooms stylishly decorated with original Dutch period antiques, a garden restaurant set amidst tropical trees and bird song, delicious home cooking personally supervised by the owner herself, and caring staff makes this a tempting hideaway, perhaps at the beginning or the end of your holiday in Sri Lanka.

Accommodation
Havelock Place has three Suites and four Standard Rooms all with a/c and ensuite bathrooms with h/w showers or bathtubs, wash basin, and w/c. Most rooms have private patios or access to the gardens. All suites and standard rooms are elegantly furnished with antique Dutch period furniture including canopied four poster beds, writing bureaus, and almairahs. Rooms also have broadband internet access.
Facilities
The sitting room, which also doubles up as a small art gallery, is the social focal point, for guests and family friends alike. Sumptuous meals are served in the dining room or the patio in the leafy garden along side a small swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The thoughtful a la carte restaurant menu offers a mix of Sri Lankan and Western dishes as well as delicious deserts including home made ice creams.
Excursions
Centrally located, Havelock Place Bungalow is a short ride away from Colombo's National Museum, cafes and restaurants, night clubs, and shops such as the Barefoot, Paradise Road, Gandhara, Sooriya and ODEL. Several temples, Kovils, and churches are also located nearby.
