Bojangles Beach House is four bedroom villa situated on an idyllic stretch of Galle Coast beach in Kabalana with a fine surfing tradition. Bojangles is a characterful beach house that is ideal for two families or a group of friends travelling together. Kabalana is a small fishing village just 20 minutes from the historic city of Galle. The journey from Colombo's International Airport will take about 4.5 hours.
Introduction
Owned by a Sri Lankan family, Bojangles is a homely and youthful beach house with an ambience that is refreshingly different from the many other beach villas located all along the southern coast. Interiors are scattered with memorabilia from western retro/pop culture including old pub signs to photographs of the Rat Pack, Bob Marley, Santana and Che. There are two separate units each with two ensuite bedrooms opening out to a verandah overlooking the swimming pool and the turquoise waters of the ocean beyond. Safe swimming is possible right in front of Bojangles especially during the season from November to April. Bojangles can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. Bojangles takes only one booking at a time ensuring that guests have the use of the entire property and ample privacy.

Accommodation
There are three double rooms and a family room located in two separate chalets. All bedrooms have a/c, overhead fans, and double or single beds fitted with mosquito netting. Ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers. Bedrooms open on to a verandah and overlook the swimming pool and the turquoise seas.
Facilities
A circular swimming pool is located in the front stretch of lawn with a sundeck. A small open-sided dining pavilion located right on the beach is ideal for alfresco dining under the stars. Sri Lankan rice and curries and western dishes are served here prepared with fresh vegetables from the local market and seafood brought directly to the doorstep by the local fisherman. Lobsters, prawns and crab are in plenty in this area, and the cook will prepare them to your liking. Guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol. Bicycles are available for those wishing to explore the surrounding villages. For those wanting a bit more comfort, a fully restored 1970s Volkswagen eight-seater combi bus can be rented at an extra fee. Boogie boards are available for surfing. Wicky, the manager at Bojangles, is always at hand to ensure guests have a fun-filled and relaxing holiday.
Excursions
Kabalana is famous for its surfing spot which is located just by Bojangles. The youthful and happening bay of Unawatuna with beachside restaurants and cafes is just a few minutes away. Unawatuna and Mirissa also offer numerous watersports including deep sea fishing, catamaran and boat rides, surfing, and snorkelling. High on the headland of Unawatuna Bay is Rhumassala Temple. With beautiful views stretching out over the Indian Ocean a walk around the headland near the temple is very special. Walk through hidden villages and verdant jungle valleys to`Jungle Beach’ - a little known and secluded beach. Galle’s historic 17th century Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is just 20 minutes away. Hours can be spent exploring the maze of narrow streets lined with Dutch and British period buildings still in use, the sturdy ramparts looking out to sea, and a growing collection of art galleries, antique shops, cafes and restaurants.
