Skye House is a beautiful five-bedroom holiday villa set on a pristine stretch of beach in Habaraduwa on the Galle coast. Galle’s historic 17C Dutch Fort is only 10 kmsto the north-west. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about four hours which will be reduced considerably once the Southern highway is completed by the end of 2011. Consider taking the Air Taxi and fly into Koggala which is just 10 minutes away.
Introduction
Skye House is a child-friendly two-storey beach house with spacious and tastefully decorated interiors. The house is set amidst gardens scattered with coconut trees and edged by the turquoise seas. This family beach house can accommodate up to 14 guests.

Accommodation
There are two double rooms and a children’s room furnished with six bunk bedsis located upstairs. The bedrooms open on to a balcony that skirts around and has spectacular sea views. Two more rooms – a double and a twin room -- are downstairs. All bedrooms are comfortably furnished and have a/c and overhead fans. Ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers.
Facilities
The spacious, open-plan living and dining area is set around the swimming pool and have views of the garden and sea beyond. There is a study room furnished with a work desk and wifi internet. The well-equipped kitchen has a central breakfast bar. Skye House has a chef who can prepare Sri Lankan and western meals, as well as housekeeping staff.
Excursions
Safe swimming and bogey boarding is possible in front of the villa during the season from December to April. There is also a PADI certified scuba diving centre at Unawatuna. Experience Unawatuna’s youthful lifestyle and the rustic beach bars and restaurants. Based at Mirissa Harbour, Mirissa Water Sports offers exciting water sports activities such as sailing, fishing, coastal cruises, sea kayaking, snorkelling and boating. The south of Sri Lanka beyond Dondra is considered one of the best locations in the world for spotting blue whales, sperm whales and spinner dolphins. Whale watching excursions into the deep seas is organised by Mirissa Water Sports during the season from December to April when the seas are calm. Explore Galle’s historic Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with narrow streets lined with Dutch and British colonial era buildings which are still in use, sturdy ramparts looking out to sea, the lighthouse, and a growing collection of art galleries, shops, restaurants and several boutique hotels and cafes.
