Introduction
Udekki named after a traditional south Asian hand drum, combines rustic style with a laid-back feel. It is the creation of its owner Glen Terry, an internationally acclaimed blues musician who spends much of his time at Udekki. Spread over three acres of sand dunes and coconut palms, the accommodation is in four suites and two spacious private villas designed with courtyards and verandahs; whitewashed walls and cooling polished cement floors; and antique doors and windows collected from different parts of the island. Interiors are decorated with an exotic blend of Indian antiques, middle eastern lamps, and vibrant local art. Rise at dawn and set off on a dolphin spotting excursion. Once back at Udekki, cool off with a long swim and dine under the stars on your own rooftop terrace. If Glen is in the mood, he may even oblige with a private performance.
