Introduction
Stay in a wooden tree house with cadjan thatched roof, built around an old tamarind tree; or the simple open plan cottage with thatched roof at the edge of a small man-made lake. Rustic-chic best describes the interiors which are decorated with Dutch period antiques and colourful furnishings. Wildlife enthusiasts might want to rise early and head to the Wilpattu National Park known for the endangered Leopard. Onceback, indulge in a traditional rice and curry meal cooked in clay pots over a hearth. At night fall, hurricane lamps create a magical setting. As this remains a remote area, there is no electricity. For lighting a few bulbs, pedestal fans, and hot water showers, Cadjan Earth relies on solar power backed by a generator which is turned on for a few hours in the night. Cadjan Earth can accommodate upto eight guests and is rented to one party at a time on FB basis.
