Rough Guide to Sri Lanka, Second Edition , Sep 2006
Perched right on the ocean front, this is the smallest and most workaday of Colombo’s five-stars, with chintzy orangey-pink décor and a pleasantly intimate atmosphere. Rooms a surprisingly cheap….if rather small and unexciting, though all have at least partial sea views. There are all the usual facilities, and the staff is frighteningly polite even by Sri Lankan standards.

Beautifully located, the 250room Continental faces the sea on one side and the north end of Galle Face Green on another. The rooms are very comfortable but tad on the small side
