Windsor Park is located in the rural village of Hingurakgoda close to the Cultural Triangle city of Polonnaruwa. The area of Hingurakgoda claims kinship to a glorious past during which an age old agrarian economy flourished. The journey from Colombo will take about five hours.
Introduction
Windsor Park, dubbed an agro-tourism retreat, is set on a 1,500-acre countryside estate it one of the most beautiful parts of the island. It offers good-value, simple accommodation in a peaceful rural setting. There are paddy fields that stretch endlessly and cattle graze contentedly in the morning sun. Peacoks roam around majestically. The estate produces rice, fruit, lake fish and dairy. In all there are seven comfortable cottages with en suite bathrooms.

The Park has five standard en suite cottages and two larger family cottages which can sleep four people. All the cottages have a/c.
Facilities
The restaurant serves up fine Sri Lankan food made with the freshest local ingredients. Note: If you want an evening meal, and you are travelling on that day, you are best advised to pre-book. The kids can enjoy themselves in a children's park and tree house. Local cycling and birdwatching trips can also be arranged.
Excursions
Windsor Park is located close to the Cultural Triangle site of Polonnaruwa which remained Sri Lanka's royal medieval capital until the late 13th century. Today, this ancient city's ruins remain in remarkably good nick, and are a fascinating site to visit especially the magnificent sculptures of Lord Buddha at the Gal Vihara cut into Granite stone. We recommend a visit to the Polonnaruwa Archeological Museum prior to visiting the ruins themselves. The thoughtfully laid out exhibits here gives a good insight into the ancient kingdom of Polonnaruwa.
