Villa 49 is one of the most attractive quality-budget options in Kandy. It provides comfortable accommodation, traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, and a peaceful holiday setting. This is a two storey house with the lounge and dining areas within the main house and bedrooms in a separate section that has much privacy. The bedrooms are spread across two floors and open out to balconies with city and mountain views. Villa 49 is conveniently located just a 10 minute stroll from the sacred Temple of the Tooth.
Of the six bedrooms – four Deluxe Rooms are spread across two floors and open out to balconies with city and mountain views. The two Standard Rooms are located in the main house and are smaller in size. Room interiors are colourful and comfortably furnished with double beds and wardrobe. In-room facilities include a/c, overhead fans, cable TV, wifi internet, tea/coffee facility, mini-fridge, and attached bathrooms with h/w showers.
Note: There is a steep stairway leading to the four Deluxe Rooms which is not recommended for very young children or adults with mobility problems.
Dine on Sri Lankan cuisine made according to traditional Kandyan recipes. Guests can order from the in-house menu. Those interested in learning local cuisine are welcome in the kitchen. Meals are served in the ground floor dining area. Tea and snacks are served on the upper floor balcony overlooking the city and the surrounding mountains. Villa 49 has a resident cook and manager.
Villa 49 is a six-bedroom guesthouse with a peaceful setting in Kandy. Situated in a residential neighborhood just a short stroll away from the Kandy Lake and the Temple of the Tooth, this is a convenient base from which to experience Kandy’s cultural heritage. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about three hours.
