Day 1, 2 & 3

Upon touching down in Colombo, travel directly to the Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR) situated 30 minutes from the hill capital, Kandy.  There is also an option of taking the Air taxi directly from the airport to Victoria, a breathtaking flight that lands on the Victoria reservoir.  Check into VGCR’s own golfing chalets situated within its 500 acres estate and just five minutes walk from the Club House.  Stay three nights here golfing and relaxing amidst the magnificent Kandyan hills.  For those wishing to experience the ancient Kandyan heritage, Kandy is just 40 minutes away. 

The Victoria Golf and Country Resort offers a wide range of facilities including an 18-hole golf course, putting green and practice range, Pro shop and PGA golf academy. Other sports and recreational facilities include bar and terrace dining, floodlit tennis court, saddle club, riding lesson for adults and kids, and horse safaris.  There is an utdoor infinity swimming pool and an Ayurvedic wellness centre offering a range of relaxing treatments.  The surrounding reservoir and central hills are ideal for bird watching. Over 100 species of birds can be spotted on nature trails within the 500-acre estate accompanied by a local expert. Mountain bike trails also provide for much adventure.

The city of Kandy is steeped in history and culture. Interesting activities include: a visit to the Temple of the Tooth where a sacred tooth relic of the Lord Buddha is enshrined; Peradeniya Botanical gardens, with its orchid collection and formally laid-out trees; Kandy's rich ancient arts and crafts including drum making, Dumbara mat weaving and Kandyan dancing and drumming.

Day 4Today you head back to the capital city of Colombo for your final night stay at the Cinnamon Grand hotel situated in the heart of the city. Experience Colombo’s colonial architecture with a visit to the Fort - a three mile long rampart originally built in the sixteenth century by the Portuguese and then further developed by the Dutch and the British. Here, many of the old colonial buildings jostle for attention with the rest of Colombo’s modern skyline. For your final night’s dinner, Cinnamon Grand has several interesting restaurants including the Lagoon that serves fresh seafood or hop across to the Galle Face Hotel for a drink at the Inn on the Green and then dinner at the Seaspray restaurant situated at the edge of the sea.
