Location:
Villa 432 is perched on a rocky outcrop at the edge
of the sea in Balapitiya, midway between the main west-coast
holiday centres of Bentota and Hikkaduwa. The historic city
of Galle is 40 minutes south and the journey from Colombo’s
international airport will take approximately three-and-a-half
hours.
Description:
Villa 432 consists of two identical staffed and well-furnished
villas linked by a freshwater swimming pool, and can comfortably
accommodate up to 22 people. The secluded sandy beaches are
just a stone's throw away. Rental is on a per room or entire
villa basis. Meals are charged separately.
Accommodation:
Each villa has four a/c double rooms and one triple room with
private balcony overlooking the sea, and attached bathroom
with h/w shower, washbasin, and w/c. Other in-room facilities
include overhead ceiling fan, telephone, TV, mini-fridge,
and safety locker.
Facilities:
An open-air bar and swimming pool with deckchairs
and sun shades lies between the two villa, overlooking the
sea. Meals are served outdoors by the bar or in the main dining
area which is located in Villa 1. Sri Lankan and Western cuisine
is on offer along with snacks and alcoholic beverages. A resident
staff of ten includes a manager, chef, and housekeeping staff.
Excursions:
Swimming is not possible right in front of Villa
432 due to the rocky outcrop. Just beyond is fine for swimming
during the season from December to April. Several water sports
including surfing, snorkelling, jet skiing are on offer in
nearby Bentota and Hikkaduwa. Go out to sea in a catamaran
with the fisherman or take a boat ride along the tranquil
Madu River past quaint rural villages. Visit Kosgoda’s
Marine Turtle hatchery – a valuable conservation project.
Experience Ambalangoda’s cultural heritage with a visit
to the Ariyapala Mask Museum. Masked dancing is also performed
here regularly. Explore Galle Fort’s narrow streets
lined with Dutch and British colonial era buildings, sturdy
ramparts looking out to sea, the lighthouse, and a growing
collection of art galleries and several boutique hotels.
