Every tour needs its down time and it seems a shame to come
all the way to Sri Lanka without going in search of some of
its diverse wildlife. While the beach is often enough for
the team’s relaxation, many also opt for a safari. A
trip to one of the islands many national parks may offer sightings
of elephant, crocodile and even leopard. Yala National Park
is Sri Lanka’s premier safari destination, with roaming
herds of elephant and a dense leopard population. While playing
in the south of the island, we recommend a night’s stay
and morning safari at Yala Village Hotel as a tour highlight.
(Please note: The nature of safari’s means a lot
of driving is involved. Inevitably a long drive is required
to reach such wilderness and the safari itself will also involve
riding in an open top jeep.) For more
information visit our wildlife pages.
