Tour of Sri Lanka 2007 - Meet the Team |
Richard Jelf – Richard runs the cricket operations
side to the company. He is your main contact for cricket enqueries
and will be able to design and handle your tour. Like David
and Charlie, Richard has played and watched cricket around the
world, and is currently the overseas player for the Burgher
Association CC, Colombo.
Suren Ladd – An old boy of St. Peters College,
Colombo, Suren joined Red Dot in 2004 to assist with marketing,
sales and development. He is a masters graduate in Business
Administration from the University of Wales and was interviewing
Charlie while completing his thesis in sports marketing when
he found that Charlie was also interviewing him, and had offered
him a job. Suren jostles Red Dot with weekend teaching, including
subjects such as economics and business studies. He also does
volunteer work for the British Council and other community-based
development organisations to be productive during his free time.
A wily off spinner for the Red Dot cricket side, he regular
attends his old school’s rugby and cricket matches and
yearns for Liverpool win the Premiership.
David Hopps – Our UK director as well as senior
cricket writer for the Guardian fell in love with Sri Lanka
when covering the 2001 England Tour. David was the architect
behind Thorner Mexborough CC’s promotion in 2006 and is
such an expert on cricket tours that he even writes books on
the subject.
Charlie Austin – Charlie directs the
company from the Colombo office, where he is also CEO of CricInfo.com.
As well as his cricket journalism, he manages 2 of Sri Lanka’s
international cricket stars. When he has the chance he takes
the number 5 spot for the Colombo Crusaders CC.
Hiran Gunesekara – As head of Red
Dot operations, Hiran organises and coordinates the logistical
side to the tour. From arranging your umpires to booking the
hotel room, Hiran ensures this is all done and is responsible
for the smooth running of tour. He assures us he was a top school
boy cricketer in his day and is now an avid supporter of the
national team. |
