Luxury
mini coach – the luxury mini-coach is a comfortable
way to travel. The coach is too small for a large squad and
all its kit, it is however suitable for 13 people with kit
travelling in baggage van. The mini-coach is an unintrusive
way to travel and ensures a great team spirit when travelling
between destinations. Two mini coaches are a great option
for a large group and provide flexibility for the cricket
and non-cricketing parties.
Coach
– For a large cricketing group (around 30 tourists)
this is a practical and efficient means of transport. The
coach is air conditioned and comfortable with plenty of room
for your kit.
Baggage Van – After years of touring
experience, as players and with Red Dot, it has become apparent
the need for a baggage van. This allows the group greater
freedom and versatility. The team will not have to wait for
baggage to be loaded and unloaded off the coach, and the van
can go ahead with team kit to place in the dressing room.
It is also a useful smaller vehicle in the instance of errands
needing to be run and emergency.
Air
Taxi – This option will not be in all clubs
budgets but it is a breathtaking way to travel. The plane
radically reduces travel time, weaving between jungle clad
mountains before landing on the nearest bit of water to your
destination. The planes are run on a private charter basis
and Red Dot will be happy to incorporate a flight into your
tour.
Train
– Travelling on the Sri Lankan railway could
be a highlight to any tour. Travelling by Observation Carriage
(1st Class) on the Colombo to Kandy line is a comfortable
means of travel and a great way to see the country. The carriage
has around 20 seats and needs to be booked early.
