Unfortunately, freshwater fly-fishing in the hill-country
around Nuwara Eliya, which was the best centre for fly-fishing,
is currently not available due to restrictions imposed by
the Nuwara Eliya & District Fishing Club. Red Dot is actively
looking for alternatives in the jungle rivers of the low country,
particularly in the Mahaweli River, the upper reaches of the
Kelani River and the Amban Ganga where you can try to catch
the indigenous Mansheer and Walaya (freshwater shark). Salt-water
fly-fishing is available on request with a specialist guide
