Location
Tall Trees is an eco-friendly holiday resort situated 1500m above sea-level in the upper reaches of the Western Ghats, a short drive from Munnar. Munnar is 130 kms from Cochin, a scenic drive that takes about four hours, and 80 kms from Thekkady.
Introduction
A holiday at Tall Trees is a treat for nature lovers: 66 acres of woodland and cardamom plantations. You can rest amidst tranquil surroundings, or amble through unspoilt country, an area of rock formations, gurgling streams, more than 600 trees, cardamom bushes, and wild flowers, a habitat for numerous species of birds and butterflies. Accommodation is in the form of individual cottages built on stilts with spectacular views of the valley below.

Accommodation
Cottages are well furnished with double or twin beds and open out to a private balcony overlooking the natural surroundings. In-room facilities include telephones, tea & coffee-making facilities, but no televisions. There are three types of cottages: Standard (one spacious bedroom with attached toilet and balcony); Deluxe (has one spacious bedroom, living/dining room and two balconies); and Luxury (ideal for a family with two bedrooms, living/dining area and two balconies).
Facilities
Hill Spice – a multi-cuisine restaurant serves Continental, Indian and traditional Keralan dishes. The glass-roof above the restaurant provides spectacular views. The Ayurveda centre offers relaxing massages. There is also a TV room, a library and cards/games room for entertainment.
Excursions
Explore the 66 acre estate of Tall Trees home to numerous species of birds including thrushes, warblers, bulbuls, shrikes, woodpeckers, mynas, flycatchers; colourful butterflies and moths, as well as small mammals such as the Malabar Giant Squirrel, barking deer, sambar deer, and wild rabbits. Exotic flora ranging from wild flowers and orchids to spices is found in plenty within the estate. Day excursions can be organised to the Chinnaur Wildlife Sanctuary, Chithirapuram Tea Plantations and Mattupetty Dam. There are plenty of good trekking options nearby, including Anamudi Peak, at 2695m above sea level the highest mountain south of the Himalayas.
