Location
Bangaram Island Resort lies on its own idyllic tiny island in Lakshadweep, an archipelago of 36 remote islands situated about 250 miles of the Malabar Coast of India. This is a secluded haven with white sandy beaches surrounded by turquoise waters with magnificent marine life and makes for some of the best diving in the world. Bangaram Island is reached by plane from Cochin’s International Airport. There are regular flights from Cochin to Agatti Island in Lakshwadeep where the airport is located. From here, you transfer by boat, or helicopter when the seas are rough, to Bangaram Island.
Introduction
Bangaram Island Resort, as befits a CGH Earth resort, promotes memorable island living with a respect for the environment and cultural heritage. The aim is that guests gain an authentic experience of the surrounding location and fishing community, its culture and ecology. Thirty beach huts with tiled roofs designed similar to the fishermen’s huts on the other islands, provides simple, but comfortable accommodation. Relax on the secluded, white-sand beaches or explore the enchanting underwater world where Manta rays, eagle rays, moray eels and Hawksbill turtles are found in plenty just by the coral reefs that surrounds Bangaram Island.

Accommodation
There are 30 beach huts designed with tiled roofs scattered across the 128-acre coconut plantation. Each of the beach huts has a bedroom furnished with a double bed, overhead ceiling fan, and mini-fridge; private palm-thatched veranda with sea views, and attached bathrooms with h/w showers. There are also four additional bungalows with the same facilities but more spacious than the beach huts.
Facilities
The central point of the resort is the restaurant hut made of bamboo and palm. Fresh seafood cooked according to traditional Indian and island recipes, is a speciality here. There is a beach bar that serves a range of fresh juices and alcoholic beverages. Bangarm Island Resort offers a range of watersports including snorkelling, kayaking, catamaran sailing, and deep sea fishing. The surrounding coral reefs and shipwrecks make for interesting diving in the deep seas. The resort has a well-equipped scuba diving centre. Those preferring a less active holiday might like to seek mind and body relaxation through Ayurveda and Yoga at the Resort’s Ayurvedic centre.
Excursions
Explore the magnificent underwater marine life that surrounds Bangaram Island, go deep sea fishing, boating, kayaking or go island hopping to the remote islands of Lakshawdeep of which mostly are isolated except for the few that are inhabited by fishing communities. Tinnakara and Parali are two uninhabited islands on the same atoll as Bangaram and can be reached by outboarding, sailing, rowing, kayaking or windsurfing once you set off from Bangaram.
