Location
Lake Palace is an extensive property on a 50-acre tropical island on the tranquil Vembanad Lake. Situated close to the starting point of the Nehru Trophy Snake Boat Races, it is set amidst tranquil surroundings and is accessed by boat from Alleppey. With the Arabian Sea on the west and a vast network of lakes, lagoons and meandering rivers that flow through it, Alleppey is a picturesque district waiting to be explored. The journey from Cochin Airport is 85 kms and 160 kms from Trivandrum Airport.
Introduction
The thrill of a boat ride along the Vembanad brings you to Lake Palace. The main focus of the hotel is the three-acre private lake in the centre around which all of the individual cottages and villas are built. There are also some cottages that are located at the edge of the Vembanad. With a host of activities, Lake Palace is suitable for families travelling with children.

Accommodation
Lake Palace offers three types of individual villas – Lake View Cottages, Kerala Cottages, and Water Villas. All villas are constructed with gabled, tiled roofs and cooling terracotta floors. All have a/c; ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers, 24-hour room service, minibar, television, coffee / tea making facility and safety locker. The resort’s own houseboat `Lake Palace Rajadhani’ offers a memorable holiday experience on the Vembanad Lake.

Lake View Cottages: Situated at the edge of the serene Vembanad Lake, these spacious cottages have an ensuite bedroom, sitting area and private balcony or verandah with beautiful lake views.

Kerala Cottages: Designed more along the lines of a traditional heritage home, these villas are constructed with timber walls and ceilings. The ensuite bedroom is spacious and has a sitting area and balcony overlooking the central private lake.

Water Villas: Perched on pillars and situated on Lake Palace’s own private lake, the water villas give a feeling of floating on water. These villas have an ensuite bedroom, sitting area and private balcony over looking the water.

Lake Palace Rajadhani: This self-contained Kettuvallam (House Boat) is essentially a floating hotel with its own A/C ensuite bedrooms, living room, dining hall, lounge bar and kitchen. This fully restored Kettuvallam with timber panelling and plush interiors comes with its own team of staff including a captain, house keeping staff and chef. The Lake Palace Rajadhani meanders along the tranquil backwaters where rural life unfolds.
Facilities
The restaurant overlooks the lake and serves daily buffets which include Kerala, Mughal, Chinese and continental dishes. The coffee shop is open 24 hours and serves drinks and light snacks. Curative and relaxing Ayurvedic treatments are offered at the `Nalukettu’ style Ayurvedic Centre. The swimming pool, with children’s pool, is situated at the centre of the three-acre private lake. Other facilities include bar, business centre, conference hall, cyber café, doctor-on-call, health club, recreation hall, water sports (speed boats & water scooters), fishing and bird watching.
Excursions
Alleppey, the `Venice of the East’, is a picturesque town with canals, lakes, lagoons and rivers that can be explored by boat. Alleppey is also famous for its coir industry, manufacturing of boats, and the traditional snake boat races which takes place each year during August to September. Manned by over a hundred oarsmen, these snake boat races are a spectacular sight. The most popular of these races is the Nehru Trophy snake boat race which attracts vast crowds. The region of Kuttanand which is described as the `rice bowl of Kerala’ is one of the few places in the world where farming is done below sea level. Explore the region with its rural villages, paddy fields, village bazaars and ancient temples.
