Location
North of Panjim and only an hour’s drive form the airport is Vivanta by Taj Holiday Village. Introduction

Accommodation
Choose from 142 rooms with options of cottage or villa with garden or sea view. The newly renovated cottages, dressed in bright colours reflect Goa’s unique architectural style to the smallest detail. The spacious villas assume a distinctly Goan ambiance and offer a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea from a private gazebo and exclusive lawns. Rooms have high ceilings, hand-crafted curtains, furnishings and handmade cepiz lampshades. Glass doors and balconies allow you to revel in the surroundings. Plasma televisions and other state-of-the-art facilities provide the contemporary touch to the cottages.
Facilities
The dining options are plentiful. The Caravela offers all day Mediterranean and North Indian dining on an open deck overlooking the sea. The Beach House is the domain of the legendary Chef Rego: with a live kitchen counter, the restaurant serves a variety of authentic specialities. Drift is the island bar and offers gourmet sushi, sake and tapas, complimented by a good selection of spirits. Nestling in the shadow of a three-hundred year-old tree, The Banyan Tree restaurant is the place to enjoy Thai specialities. The ingredients include fresh herbs grown in the resort’s own spice garden. On-site entertainment is lead by the trademark Taj Jiva Spa, offering holistic Indian signature experiences, beauty treatments, scrubs and wraps. There is a 5-hole golf putting green, swimming pool, Tennis, Billiards, Squash courts and fitness centre.
Excursions
Upon special request, the resort can make extra-special dining arrangements for guests. These include dining at an old Goan house, dinner and cocktails on a sunset cruise, or private dining on the beach for small groups. Day-time excursions include jungle safaris, bird watching morning walks, and visits to the local pottery centre. From this base you may further explore Old Goa and Panaji, the slow-paced, friendly capital of Goa. The road to Old Goa rises over a hill to give you a first glimpse of the over-grown city with St. Augustine’s soaring tower. Head for the centre where the big group of churches stand. See the casket that retains the body of St. Francis Xavier in the Basilica of Bom Jesus, and cross the square the grand Dominican Cathedral of St. Catherine. Perhaps head north for a beach tour of Northern Goa: pick from the likes of Anjuna, Baga, Calangute, Vagator, Banaulim and Colva. Shop the markets of Anjuna and Mapusa, or the Ingo’s Night Bazaar on Arpora Hill. Trek to the Dudhsagar Falls. Take an expedition into the caves of Santrem. River cruises to Paradise Island. Explore and understand this brilliant Mecca of India.
