Location
Built just 2 years ago, the resort is set on a hilltop at an altitude of 1500m on the Western Ghats in the Coorg district in Western Karnataka, the resort is 8.5km from the nearest town – Madikeri. This hill retreat is easily accessible from Mysore, taking three hours by car.
Introduction
Heritage Resort is a calm, quiet hill-country property benefiting from the magnificent views across the rolling hills of the Western Ghats. Set amidst verdant valleys, imposing mountains and teak wood forests, this is one of the most beautiful hill stations you can visit. This self-contained resort prides itself on its isolation from other holiday goers, traffic and noise that one becomes familiar with in the everyday hustle and bustle of Indian life; in fact neither lights nor noise can be seen or heard besides the fireflies and the abundance of jungle activity. At the top of the property with the finest view of all is the restaurant with a 320 degree view of the surrounding areas, with a magnificent infinity pool over looking the property and the Western Ghats.

Accommodation
The property consists of 26 semi-detached cottages that are laterite-walled and thatched to look like traditional village huts of the Coorg region. Each cottage is very open and spacious, with a light décor fringed with simple patterns and paintings on carpets and curtains to encapsulate the traditional artwork of the rural region. The cottages all have an outdoor veranda all facing down towards the valley; a place to reflect in peace and tranquillity. Each room comes with a widescreen cable television, a mini fridge and a spacious Western style bathroom. For families, two adjoining cottages can be reserved with a choice of a king-sized bed or twin beds.
Facilities
At the highest point of the property is a large infinity pool that offers magnificent picturesque views across the region. Next to the pool is the restaurant that is almost encircled by an outdoor patio and grass garden ideal for relaxing in the sun or simply indulging in some much earned reading time whilst staff supply your every need. The restaurant itself caters for all tastes: classic Coorg, South Indian, North Indian and Continental. In high season, buffets will be served for breakfast and dinner. The resort offers an Ayurvedic spa where experts are equipped to take you through a series of massages and treatments to rid you of the stresses of everyday life. There is also a cottage with indoor activities such as billiards, table tennis and board games.
Excursions
If you want to get out and about, the resort takes morning and evening walks through the jungle displaying to you the abundance of wildlife, colour and smells that such a natural environment can offer. If you want to explore the jungle for yourself, the resort supplies bicycles for you to ride through the avenues of vegetation parading the variation of flora and fauna. Trips also go to Talacauvery, a place to see the birth of the river Cauvery which plays such a large role in fuelling life in the Coorg region. Other excursions include visiting coffee and spice plantations which the Coorg region is famous for. Tours are given, providing you with the history and knowledge of how such an industry operates, giving you the opportunity to taste and purchase the produce you see before you. Dubare Elephant Park is often a favourite amongst the guests, where they get the chance to see the taming of wild elephants and get a hands-on approach to washing them in the Cauvery River.
