Ambassador’s House is one of the oldest properties within Galle Fort, dating back about 300 years, and is now one of its more sought-after villas. This carefully restored villa has English owners and comprises two buildings connected by a central courtyard. The single storey building in front consists of the living and dining areas while the two storey building at the back of the property houses the bedrooms. Much of the original architecture including courtyards and verandahs, arches and high ceilings and even the original 10 inch thick walls have all been retained. Interiors have exquisite Dutch period antiques and comfortable sofas. After a stroll down Galle's narrow roadways, cool off with a dip in the plunge pool and relax with a chilled beer on the roof terrace.
