This family-run stylish boutique hotel acts as a sanctuary from the roar of Jaipur, its simple decor a calming blend of muted colours and wooden furnishings.

47 Jobner Bagh is neatly hidden inside the bustling Pink City and is a beautiful respite after a morning exploring. Think candlelit dinners on the lawn and a cool chai on the roof terrace. The 12 homely rooms are comfortable without being luxurious, and the owners will do everything they can to ensure you have a pleasant stay. When you’re ready to tackle the city, you’re just a brief walk from its key landmarks, including Gaitore and the resplendent City Palace, the former royal headquarters.

I can’t thank Cherylle and the Red Dot team enough for their meticulous planning of our family holiday to India travelling through Rajasthan over Christmas. We looked up, and communicated with umpteen tour operators. Though Red Dot seemed to have offices in Sri Lanka and the UK, they seemed to have the best reviews. We were fortunate enough to correspond with Cherylle, who not only assured us of the safety of our friend, but created a personalised, and flexible, itinerary which we could not have done ourselves.
