Sarangkot is Nepal's finest sunrise viewpoint, and this is the lodge that sits right at the top of it.
At 1,600 metres, every one of its 28 deluxe rooms and 2 suites looks directly out at the Annapurna range from a private balcony. The rooftop infinity pool with that panorama in front of it is as good as it sounds. Next door, Zipflyer Nepal runs 1,850 metres down to the valley floor with a vertical drop of over 600 metres, one of the longest and steepest zip lines in Asia.
What we love
- Watching the sunrise turn the Annapurna range from grey to pink to gold from your own private balcony is one of the great Nepal experiences and this lodge is perfectly placed for it
- We love the rooftop infinity pool. With that view and those mountains, it is genuinely one of the most spectacular pool settings in the country
- The Barahi group cares about responsible tourism and it shows in the warmth and attentiveness of the staff
- For anyone wanting an adrenaline fix, Zipflyer Nepal next door is an extraordinary thing to do, with the mountains all around you
The road up to Sarangkot is steep and winding, which is part of what makes the setting so dramatic. It is not a property to choose if easy access to Pokhara town is a priority
The sunrise is the main event here, and it requires an early alarm; most guests are up by 5am or before. The lodge is specifically designed around this experience rather than offering a wide range of on-site activities or dining variety
