Once a bustling international trading port, Colombo welcomed sailors and settlers from all corners of the world, each leaving their mark on Sri Lanka’s diverse cuisine.

This unique culinary tour takes you on a mouth-watering journey through the city’s rich trading heritage and local food culture. You’ll begin at the iconic Galle Face Green, sampling isso wade, a crispy lentil fritter topped with spicy shrimp. From there, wander past the historic port to a 150-year-old tea house, where you’ll enjoy a traditional cup of sweet and strong milk tea, a staple of Colombo life.

As you continue, take in the sights of the old town hall and the striking red mosque before exploring Pettah Market’s vibrant stalls. A stop at a Bombay sweets shop adds a sweet touch to the journey, before heading to a street that’s been serving authentic curries for over two centuries, where your main meal awaits. End the tour with a lively tuk tuk ride to a historic pub that once served soldiers during World War II, wrapping up this sensory exploration of Colombo’s culinary and cultural history.
