Aditya Sri Lanka

Media Reviews
"'Named after a group of solar deities in Hindu mythology, Aditya is a smart boutique hotel located on a quite stretch of beach just south of Hikkaduwa. With its elegant style, luxurious fittings and abundance of space, Aditya is possibly one of the most romantic hotels in Sri Lanka. Its level of service, intimate atmosphere and exclusive accommodation are designed to arouse the senses, enliven the intellect, and seduce the soul.'"

Aditya is one of the most popular boutique beach properties in Sri Lanka. It sits on a secluded stretch of beach in Rathgama, midway between the hedonistic beach resort of Hikkaduwa and the historic old town of Galle. The drive from Colombo is about three hours.
Introduction
Sri Lanka’s ability to produce boutique hotels is now established and Aditya is a classic example. Red Dot clients have enjoyed Aditya since its opening in 2006 and it remains one of our most popular choices for those seeking a small but luxurious beach hotel in the vicinity of Galle. The hotel’s rates are also reasonable considering the quality of the rooms and services when you compare with similar beach properties in the region.

Accommodation
Aditya has 12 spacious and elegant suites each named after one of the solar deities of Hindu Mythology. Each of the suites is unique in its design and layout and possesses their own individual mood. Interiors are stylishly decorated with king-size beds, objects d’art and antiques, most of which have been imported from Bali and Indonesia. In-room facilities include large-screen TV, DVD/CD player, mini-bar, safe, hairdryer, tea / coffee making facility. Bathrooms have his & hers sinks, vanity mirrors, and rainhead showers. Each suite also has a private plunge pool/Jacuzzi.

Shanthi Suites: There are five Shanthi Suites all with spacious verandahs that open on to intimate private gardens grown with lush tropical foliage. These suites also have a private plunge pool and Jacuzzi.

Sagara Suites: The six Sagara suites, all with expansive balconies, provide for breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. Each of the suites also has a private plunge pool and Jacuzzi. The Sagara suites are highly recommended.

Surya Suite: The ultimate in luxury accommodation, the Surya Suite is a two-story penthouse with an extensive open air terrace overlooking the sea. The lower level consists of a living space with plush furnishings and wide screen TV. The romantic sleeping area is on the upper level furnished with a king-sized bed. The open air private plunge pool and Jacuzzi overlooks the Indian Ocean.
Facilities
The Amal restaurant has views of the beach and offers a selection of both eastern and western cuisine, with seafood a particular strength. Guests may request from the master chef their own choice of menu and depending on availability of ingredients, will prepare a sumptuous meal according to your wishes. Meals are served at any time and any where you please – in the main restaurant, the gardens or in the privacy of your own suite. The bar, by Sri Lankan standards, has a decent selection of wines and cocktails. Swim in either the large pool or (at safe times of year) on the secluded stretch of tropical beach. To further pamper body and soul, there is an en suite spa service, a well-equipped gym, a yoga room and a library with an eclectic selection of books, music and movies. Mini-courses are offered on such diverse subjects as Sri Lankan cooking and mask making, and the hotel’s own mini moke is available for hire.
Excursions
Visit Galle’s 17th century Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with narrow streets lined with Dutch and British colonial era buildings which are still in use, sturdy ramparts looking out to sea, the lighthouse and a growing collection of art galleries and antique shops. Hikkaduwa, just north of Aditya is popular for water sports including diving over coral reefs, snorkeling, and windsurfing. These coastal towns including Ambalangoda, all share a vibrant cultural heritage including folklore, music, and dance forms. Cottage industries such as basket weaving, mask carving, and small shops selling Dutch antiques - furniture, lamps and ornaments, makes for interesting way side shopping.
