Introduction
Ayurveda Pavilions' raison d'etre is the deep-rooted philosophy that emphasises the positive health to be gained from the balance between mind and body through a combination of ancient philosophies such as ayurveda, yoga, and meditation. Emphasis is also given to appropriate nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. At Ayurveda Pavilions, these ancient holistic ideologies are blended with modern luxurious facilities providing guests with a life-enhancing experience. A team of highly specialized practitioners and therapists, along with the caring and efficient service of the hotel staff, has won this resort much recognition including membership of `Great Hotels of the World’.

Accommodation
There are 12 spacious a/c pavilions - five King and seven Queen - each with its own in-house therapy area, private garden with frangipani trees, bedroom and ensuite bathroom with bath tub and open air shower with h/c water. Peace and privacy is a hallmark at the Ayurveda Pavilion with complete in-room therapy and dining facilities. All Pavilions have tv, music system with a selection of CDs, IDD telephone, mini bar, safety locker, and hairdryer. The King pavilions have more spacious bedrooms and garden areas.
Facilities
Services at Ayurveda Pavilions are entirely based upon individual guests' health and nutritional requirements, as recommended by the in-house Ayurveda medical practitioner. Following an initial consultation, daily menus and therapies are organized for each guest for their stay. Therapies range from rejuvenating massages using herbal oils, body wraps, and flower baths to more intensive curative Ayurveda treatments for a range of medical ailments including diabetes and cholesterol. Supplementary educational programmes on Ayurveda, knowledge of medicinal plants and healthy cooking, music therapy, yoga, and meditation are all part of this holistic approach. A minimum stay of three days is recommended for the relaxation therapies with longer periods required for more intensive treatments. Each guest is given an advisory report by the Ayurveda physician at the end of their stay to ensure prolonged well-being. The resort also has a separate Ayurveda Centre with a pharmacy and additional treatment areas, a herbal garden, a tranquil swimming pool with Jacuzzi, and restaurant offering Ayurvedic cuisine prepared with locally available fresh fruits, vegetables, and seafood.
Excursions
Guests are encouraged by the chef to participate in the in-house cookery programme which begins with a visit to local fish and vegetable markets. Guests then partake in an Ayurvedic cookery demonstration. At excursions to ancient Aluthpola rock temple guests can participate in Buddhist discussions and daily poojas (alms giving to the priests). The turquoise blue waters of the Indian Ocean are only a few minutes walk away, and can be enjoyed at the sister property, `The Beach’, a five-star hotel located nearby.
