In complete contrast to the busier tourist spots, Chanoud Garh offers a gentle and personal introduction to the village and its people, giving guests the ability to deeply connect with this rural community.
The food is an absolute highlight with locally sourced, organic ingredients transformed into regional Rajasthani cuisine and served either within the ancient courtyards or on the palace rooftop.

As this is a heritage property, the hotel does not offer a swimming pool, spa or gym, with its focus being on authenticity in both architecture and hospitality.

The remote setting of Chanoud Garh is one of its key attractions but bear in mind that you will need to drive to reach the major attractions in the area.

Children are warmly welcomed here, and the palace has plenty of space for little people to safely roam. While the hotel has a quiet and calm atmosphere, hotel staff can organise village walks and jeep rides for families to explore rural Indian life and spot peacocks, camels or goats in the village. Meals are mostly Rajasthani so the hotel will need to be pre-warned of any little guests needing specific modifications to this menu.

Midway between Jodhpur (a 2-hour drive) and Udaipur (a 3-hour drive), Chanoud lies in the foothills of the Aravalli hills on the outer edge of the Thar Desert. The Onam Salt Lake, famed for its sunset vistas, is only 15km away, while the Ranakpur Jain temples can be reached within 1.5hour’s drive.

Exceptional tour of Sri Lanka with Dami. We cannot recommend Dami at Red dot tours highly enough. As our guide over 9 days he made sure that our trip to Sri Lanka was unforgettable- always going above & beyond to impart his knowledge, show us things off the beaten track, looking after us, getting us to try many local delicacies & making us laugh .. a LOT. Cannot imagine anyone doing a better job- if we could take him with us on every holiday we would!

Dulmini did a great job listening to our wishes and arranged an itinerary that was very busy but met all our needs. Sisira, our guide, was outstanding, providing us with great local knowledge and suggesting other activities on our travels. He was a great driver on the busy Sri Lankan roads, was always punctual but above all added colour to the whole trip.

Wow what can I say, from start to finish we have had a wonderful holiday with Red Dot Tours. Dulmini was so helpful in putting an itinerary together for us as a family of 6 and catering to all of our needs. We have ticked off so many of Sri Lanka’s beautiful sights during our trip. We spent 13 days on a Bawa tour with wonderful driver and guide Manjula, including Kandalama Heritance, The Kandy House, The Last House, Jetwing Yala, Jetwing Lighthouse and Club Villa hotels. This is an excellent tour company. They planned our Sri Lankan holiday from start to finish. The trip was initially planned for 2022 but due to Covid and other issues we didn’t manage to undertake the trip until this year. As a group of 8 we have had the most fabulous tour of Sri Lanka organised by Dulmini from RedDot who totally understood my brief of "some" culture, agriculture, nature, trekking and relaxation. The hotels chosen were a wonderful mixture of homestay, tented and pure luxury (Ceylon Tea Trails). The experiences to local villages, trekking the Pekoe Trail and climbing Pidurangala were memorable and our wonderful guide, Ananda, was so informative and knowledgeable and adapted to our needs admirable (not easy with a group of 8)
