The only resort in the southern Thaa Atoll,COMO Maalifushi gives an air of seclusion. It’s a 60-minute seaplane flight from the airport, making it perfect for travellers seeking a true escape - we think it’s well worth the journey. Light, bright, and airy accommodation with white walls ensures the views take centre stage - trust us, they’re showstopping.

The powdery sands and turquoise waters are framed by swaying palms and you’ll see nothing but ocean for miles if you opt for one of the impeccable water villas. When you’re done lounging by your private pool, enjoy fishing, surfing, snorkelling, diving, or even padel. We encourage you to try one of the unique excursions on offer- night snorkelling with whale sharks is unforgettable. The hotel also owns a nearby island which you can kayak, swim, or take a boat to and play out all your castaway fantasies. Staff will happily prepare a picnic for you and set everything up so you can relax on arrival - you can even stay here overnight if you’re feeling adventurous.

Recoup your energy at the spa and refuel at one of three fantastic restaurants,serving up fresh seafood, mouthwatering Japanese cuisine, or even a beachbarbecue. At the beachside eateries, keep your eyes peeled for nurse sharks, rays, and colourful fish while you dine. While COMO Maalifushi offers an indulgent stay for couples or honeymooners, it’s also a great choice for families. Family-friendly villas offer ample space and little ones will be entertained at the kids’ club, which provides plenty of activities for anyone over the age of 4. Thali restaurant also serves up kid-friendly menus.

It isn't cheap but it's a once in a lifetime kind of place and completely worth it

This is a great option for families as there are several two bedroom options, and there's a kids club too.

Exceptional tour of Sri Lanka with Dami. We cannot recommend Dami at Red dot tours highly enough. As our guide over 9 days he made sure that our trip to Sri Lanka was unforgettable- always going above & beyond to impart his knowledge, show us things off the beaten track, looking after us, getting us to try many local delicacies & making us laugh .. a LOT. Cannot imagine anyone doing a better job- if we could take him with us on every holiday we would!

Dulmini did a great job listening to our wishes and arranged an itinerary that was very busy but met all our needs. Sisira, our guide, was outstanding, providing us with great local knowledge and suggesting other activities on our travels. He was a great driver on the busy Sri Lankan roads, was always punctual but above all added colour to the whole trip.

Wow what can I say, from start to finish we have had a wonderful holiday with Red Dot Tours. We spent 13 days on a Bawa tour with wonderful driver and guide Manjula, including Kandalama Heritance, The Kandy House, The Last House, Jetwing Yala, Jetwing Lighthouse and Club Villa hotels. This is an excellent tour company. They planned our Sri Lankan holiday from start to finish. The trip was initially planned for 2022 but due to Covid and other issues we didn’t manage to undertake the trip until this year. As a group of 8 we have had the most fabulous tour of Sri Lanka organised by Dulmini from RedDot who totally understood my brief of "some" culture, agriculture, nature, trekking and relaxation. The hotels chosen were a wonderful mixture of homestay, tented and pure luxury (Ceylon Tea Trails). The experiences to local villages, trekking the Pekoe Trail and climbing Pidurangala were memorable and our wonderful guide, Ananda, was so informative and knowledgeable and adapted to our needs admirable (not easy with a group of 8)
