There are six restaurants, three of which are family-friendly, and five of which are included in your package, ensuring plenty of choice. Whether you want to savour a pizza on the beach or an eight-course tasting menu, there’s something for everyone. Located in the quieter Raa Atoll, Heritance Aarah may be just a 40-minute seaplane from Malé but you won’t see another island or resort from your villa or the beach. Its remote location also means you're never far from a dive or snorkel site - the house reef is just metres from the shore.
Adventurous travellers can also enjoy catamaran sailing, water skiing, or kite surfing. Kids can enjoy the many activities on offer or make the most of the Kid’s Club. When you’re ready to relax, watch the day disappear in the over-water wellness sanctuary, with its sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. It’s also home to the Maldives’ first medi-spa, complete with a hangover clinic and a menu of non-intrusive beauty treatments. The 150 rooms and villas boast thatched roofs, a neutral colour palette, rainfall showers, deep, lavish bathtubs, and a full-to-the-brim minibar. Some come with private pools and beach access, while most also benefit from a private 24-hour butler service. There are also interconnecting rooms available to cater to families.
What we love
- Plenty of watersports and photo opportunities to match, from wildlife cruises to catamaran sailing and scuba diving
- Honeymooners have their chance to savour romantic moments alone, with private dining and even private film screenings on the beach
- The hotel’s wellness sanctuary is suspended over the water and is complete with a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. And every guest staying at least seven nights is entitled to a 30-minute massage for free
- Children love the Kids Club, which mixes up its activities every day, from painting to scavenger hunts to karaoke and more
- The infinity pool is particularly special - get a nice cold cocktail from the pool bar and laze at the far end that stretches out into the ocean
- There are interconnecting rooms available for families
- Home to the Maldives’ first medi-spa, with a menu of non-intrusive beauty treatments and even a hangover clinic
The dive centre is under separate management and prices are a little higher compared to other resorts, so do factor this in if you plan to spend time under the waves
Whilst there is plenty for couples to enjoy, the resort is geared more towards families, and some guests find that the pool or restaurants can become a little busy with children in peak holiday season
Those with food allergies have slightly fewer options for dinner, as Ginifathi and Ambula Sri Lanka specialise in seafood - though there are still other overwater dining restaurants and the pizza hut, all options that guests love
You have to travel by seaplane - there's no speedboat option
You may need to occasionally book into the restaurants to ensure you get a table at the right time
