Pench National Park
Widely believed to be the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, the dense canopy and enthralling soundtrack of the jungle are winsomely immersive here.
No surprise then that Pench is enduringly popular and reputedly the prettiest of India’s national parks. Interspersed with grass meadows and high rocky promontories, it is a deep, verdant forest of teak, sal and bamboo spanning the course of the Pench River and bordered by the Satpura Range of hills.
